About Me

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Production Technology and Management, I have spent the last 5 years working as a Stage Manager in the Theatre Industry.

There were many perks to the job such as getting to see different parts of the UK through working on touring productions and it always felt like a special environment to be able to call your workplace.

However, after only a few years in the insutry, I began to realise that I was no longer feeling challenged in my work. And with the long and unsociable working hours, low pay, and the fact that you often had to leave home for weeks or months at a time in order to keep working, I began to reassess if it was a job I wanted to continue pursueing. The Covid-19 pandemic brought the theatre industry to an abrupt halt and it made me realise even further just how unreliable and unstable jobs in the industry often are.

So, after a few jobs post-pandemic and still feeling unchallenged and unfulfilled, I decided I would pursue a diffrent career path. My partner sent me a link to a free Introduction to Coding course with SheCodes and, as they say, the rest was history.

I have been studying with SheCodes and FreeCodeCamp for a couple of months now and I can't believe just how much I've learned in such a small period of time.
